    Ella Florense Catalini

    April 16, 1936 - January 29, 2022

Ella Floranse Dianna Catalini passed away in the early morning of January 29th, 2022; in Torrance, at Little Comp[any of Mary Medical Center. She was born on April 16th, 1936 in Northern Norway on an Island called Andoya in the town of Andenes. Her parents were Walter and Maren Eliasen. Ella was the youngest and had an older brother Walter and sister Myrtle. Growing up in Norway, she developed extraordinary homemaking skills by watching and learning how to cook and bake from her mother Maren. Ella's favorite holiday was Christmas. Her father was a fisherman, so they always had plenty of good fish to eat too. Then she was a little girl in Norway during World War II, her parents taught her the values of being kind, resourceful, and persistent. She came to America when she was 14 years old and went to High School in New Jersey. She met the love of her life Luigi Catalini from Italy. They marries on May 4th, 1056. They had six children: Doreen, David, Elena, Lisa, Theresa, and Roseann. In 1970 the family moved to Lawndale, California and settled there. Ella loved her family very much and devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. A wonderful mother with such a big heart; she would do anything to help her children, grandchildren, and fur babies (cats). She was an extraordinary cook and baker. Known as the world's best cook, Mom's kitchen was open 24/7. The main ingredient in her cooking was love. She will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever in our hearts. She is preceded in death by her sister Myrtle, her husband Luigi in 2020, and her daughter Doreen in 2017. She is survived by her five children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and her brother Walter and nieces and nephews.
