Mr. George F. Border

October 17, 1928 - January 18, 2022

George F Border was born in Hermosa Beach, California. He was the second child born to George F Border and Julia Davis. He was first married to Helen M Boulter and from this marriage, he had four children. Sheryl L Scheer, (Brian), Karol Kay Kaye, (Glenn), George F. Border, Jr (Anna) and David Gard Border. He later married Teruko Nakamura and raise his stepson Lance Hoddrick and remained married to her for 40 + years. George was a bus driver for 35 years and retired at the age of 62. He started fast walking for enjoyment and later became a runner. He started running marathons at the age of 67 and participated in over 40 marathons which include running the Catalina marathon twice a year and running the Boston Marathon twice. He ran the first Boston Marathon at age 80 coming in 2nd place for his age group. He loved to shake people's hands, especially where he would challenge them to a handgrip contest. He had many friends and relatives who loved and cared about him. He is greatly missed by those friends and relatives.
