Mary Jane Fuller
November 26, 1929 - November 8, 2021
Mary Jane was born Nov. 26, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to Oakland M. and Mary E. Shoemaker. In 1936, her family moved to Hurley, New Mexico, where she developed her love of the desert, Native American history, and Hatch hot green chili. She’s been a resident of Los Angeles since 1941, attending Virgil Jr. High, Belmont High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA. She met the love of her life, Ronald J. Fuller, and they were married Nov. 15, 1953. They made their home in California, in Long Beach, Anaheim, Hayward and in 1961, settled in Rancho Palos Verdes. They owned and operated a successful business, Fuller’s Office Equipment, in Torrance, CA for 40 years. After her husband’s death, she joined the Palos Verdes Peninsula Lions Club and served her community. She became a docent with the PV Art Center once she retired in 2007 and enjoyed the comradery of the artists and patrons. She enjoyed her garden and roses, backyard birds and neighborhood animals – she jokingly said she fed everything that came through her yard. She is survived by her children, Ron Fuller Jr., and Mary Ann Fuller. Mary Jane, or “MJ” always had a bright, cheery smile and kind, optimistic words to share. She never met a stranger, and she made friends for life. She will be missed by all that knew her. Visitation will be held on Monday 12/6/2021, 4:00pm – 8:00pm and Memorial Celebration on Tuesday 12/7/2021 at 11:30am in the Green Hills Memorial Chapel. Private graveside services will follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, MN
