Robert Sherwood

December 10, 1966 - February 28, 2022

Robert Sherwood passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the age of 55. He was a lifelong San Pedro resident born on December 10, 1966 to Robert and Hilda Sherwood. Robert attended San Pedro High School. He owned and operated his own automobile repair shop in San Pedro before becoming an ILWU Local 13 mechanic. After 18 years as a mechanic, he became an ILWU Local 63 Clerk until he retired in 2019. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring classic cars and motorcycles, cruising, spending time with his family, lounging at the river, and camping in the High Sierras. He was an amazing husband, father, papa, son, brother, and friend. He was kind, caring, generous, and loved to make others laugh. Robert touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered. Robert is survived by his mother, Hilda Sherwood, wife of 31 years, Lisa Sherwood, his son Paul Quintana and daughters Felicia (Jesse) Devine, Samantha (Raymond) Sherwood-Esparza, Jennifer (Chad) Rhodes, Jacqueline (Fernando) Sherwood-Silva; and his grandchildren Alana Quintana, Jesse Devine Jr, Sarah Esparza, Madelyn Rhodes, and Lilith Devine. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Sherwood Sr. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 4:30-8:30pm at Green Hills Memorial Park Chapel, 27501 South Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 12pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1292 West Santa Cruz St, San Pedro, CA 90732. Followed by a coastal cruise and graveside burial at Green Hills Memorial Park.
